News broadcasts make extensive use of chromakey. The presenter stands in front of a blue or green background, which is filled up by chromakey. The subjects discussed by the presenter are accompanied simultaneously by visuals, pictures and images in the background. Sometimes these visuals will switch to a full screen display of stories that were previously recorded.

Students come up with the subjects for the news themselves, and divide the tasks between them. Who will be the presenter? Who is going on an ‘assignment’? Then filming, directing and acting follows! It is great to see your classmate as a newscaster, interviewer or interviewee. Everyone has brilliant fun creating and searching for news and recording the news items.

* Invent news items
* Rehearsing and filming
* Filming the newscaster
* Editing (rough)
* Filming of the ‘news’
* Presentation and publication (computer/website)
